International arrivals to Bali rose sharply in winter 2022 – the most important season of the year for Bali tourism. This progress comes as the island is now fully reopened to international visitors. Good performances are expected for the rest of the year, especially with the reopening of China’s borders in March 2023.
For the first two months of the year, Australian tourists were the most numerous, with 170,354 visitors, well ahead of India, in second place with 49,709 visitors. In third place is Russia (39,449 visitors), followed by Asian countries such as South Korea and Malaysia (33,253 and 31,189 visitors respectively). For the rest of the year, the Indonesian government expects to welcome at least 700,000 Chinese visitors, thanks to the reopening of China’s borders at the beginning of the year.
On Friday February 25, it was announced that the “visa on arrival” policy would soon resume. As the name suggests, international arrivals can receive a visa once on Indonesian soil and after paying a nominal fee of 35 USD. With this visa, visitors can stay in Bali for 30 days, with the option of extending their stay for a further 30 days.
VoA had been suspended since March 2021. It used to be one of the most popular entry methods for international visitors. This announcement has been well received by those wishing to visit the island, and for those who consider it an opportune time to make a real estate investment in Bali.
Bali is one of the world’s leading tourist destinations and continues to be a solid choice for luxury real estate investments. Particularly in 2023, Bali is more attractive than ever thanks to the return of numerous visitors, expatriates and digital nomads.
The most popular districts such as Berawa, Canggu and Seminyak have continued to grow in recent times, thanks to a large and active expatriate population and the strength of the domestic tourism industry. The area has seen numerous development projects and the opening of shops and restaurants in recent months, in anticipation of the influx of visitors.
Today, property prices are on the rise, but it’s not too late to find a property at an attractive price that will give you a high rental yield and an attractive capital gain in the coming years.
