FIVE INVESTMENT HOTSPOTS IN THAILAND

Investing in real estate in Thailand offers many advantages: high net yields, low taxes, affordable prices for luxury properties, and rapidly growing demand thanks to the country’s exceptional tourist appeal. But where to invest in Thailand?

1. Phuket

Nicknamed the “Pearl of the South”, Phuket is Thailand’s largest and most famous island.

– Between sea and mountains, the island boasts an extraordinary variety of landscapes: paradisiacal sandy beaches, cliffs, coconut palms, lagoons, estuaries and lush vegetation.

– The island seduces with its diversity and attracted over 9 million tourists in 2018.

– Phuket has historically been Thailand’s most popular destination, and this early development has made it Thailand’s leading tourist destination.

– This lead over neighboring destinations is still being confirmed: a streetcar line to improve transport fluidity is due to come into service in 2021. The big names in the hotel industry, Hilton, Sheraton and Holiday Inn, are not mistaken and are strengthening their local presence.

Phuket has an international airport.

2. Koh Samui

The tropical island lies in the southern part of the Gulf of Thailand.

– Lined with beaches, Samui is the main island of the Angthong archipelago. Koh Samui is Thailand’s third-largest island. The infrastructures built on the island have been designed to be in perfect harmony with the environment.

– Koh Samui has remained more authentic, even with the ever-increasing number of tourists. Very popular with the French, Samui combines magnificent beaches with breathtaking scenery. Numerous golf courses, comfortable beach clubs, yoga clubs… make everyday life a pleasure.

Samui is an hour’s flight from Bangkok and can also be reached by ferry.

3. Hua Hin

Located around 200 kilometers from Bangkok on the western coast of the Gulf of Thailand, Hua Hin is less touristy than the major resorts of Phuket or Pattaya.

Hua Hin is a charming, peaceful town. Very popular with Bangkok’s wealthy families, who spend their weekends and vacations here.

– The Royal Family owns magnificent residences here, giving it a plush charm. Hua Hin also boasts some of the finest golf courses in Thailand.

– Investors appreciate Hua Hin for its exceptional quality of life, its authenticity and, above all, its modern infrastructure. Hua Hin is expanding its cultural offering with the creation of a 30-hectare arts complex.

4. Pattaya

– Thailand’s most dynamic seaside resort, Pattaya has enjoyed exponential growth over the past half-century.

– The town is constantly modernizing and evolving to offer visitors an ever more attractive setting. The multitude of activities on offer attracts over 9 million tourists a year. Enjoy golf, water sports, diving, cultural activities and nightlife.
– While the city is bustling and busy, the nearby residential areas are much quieter.
Pattaya has an international airport and is an hour and a half from Bangkok airport.

5. Bangkok

As well as seaside resorts, it’s also possible to invest in the bustling capital of Bangkok.

– In its annual Master Index of Global Destinations Cities, MasterCard ranked it among the world’s most visited cities, ahead of London and Paris. A blend of tradition and modernity, the town has many tourist attractions.

– To invest, focus on the city’s central districts, which are the most sought-after by expatriates.

Products tailored to your project

Depending on the purpose and objectives of your investment, certain locations and product types will be preferable.
You may want to invest with different objectives in mind:

  • Pure” investment
  • Rental and personal use
  • Personal use

For a “pure” investment with high rental yields, Phuket, Samui, and Pattaya are ideal spots. Rental conditions for this type of investment can reach 10% of the yields specified in the sales contract, with ‘0’ administrative and ‘0’ management worries.

For a rental investment with personal use, Phuket, Koh Samui and the seaside resortHua Hin will match your expectations. You can benefit from returns of 7 or 8%, as specified in the sales contract, with the possibility ofoccupying the property for two to four weeks a year.

A s an investment for personal use, we recommend Hua Hin for its affordable homes, or Phuket and Koh Samui with larger budgets. In this case, there will be no guaranteed return if you rent it out for part of the year.
